spot - Point Perfect

Klitmøller's best kids' spot

Point Perfect is a small pier which is able to create a perfect 'left' (a wave that breaks from left to right) in days when nothing else seems to work.

Rarely becomes more than 1 meter in height.

Please be aware:

There might be some large stones in the water just east of this little pier, and that is where you will enter the water so be careful.

Klitmøller's most famous spot

Klitmøller Reef is a reef which begins 50 meters or 165 feet south of NASA ( the local surf club ) and continues to the northern side of the club house. This spot features great and consistent conditions because this reef consists of large stones and clams which keep the reef in its place.

Please be aware:

This reef consists of stones and clams and the water can be very shallow.

spot - Fischerman's corner

Fischerman's corner is a heavy bølge

Fischerman's corner is a wave which breaks close to shore and contains a lot of water. It can only be surfed with an NE swell. You'll find this spot by following the large iron pipe across the pier.

Please be aware:

This is a very heavy wave so remember to exit in time or you'll end up in the gravel.

spot - Fakir

Fakir is an overlooked spot

Fakir gets its name from the concrete slabs with iron pokers in them which you'll find along the coastline and for the first couple of meters into the water. This is a super wave when it works, but it can be a bit rounded in the spot, so it's ideal for S.U.P, large surfboards, or kayaks. It's also a great windsurfing and kitesurfing spot. There's parking right where the harbor ends.

Please be aware:

There's also an outgoing current and large rocks in the water for the first 10 meters or 30 feet.

spot - FISH FACTORY

Fish Factory - is a super nice wave

Fish factory is a great wave when all else fails and the wind blows from the west. The air can be a bit pungent because of the fish meal factory, which gave this spot its name. You surf this spot just west of the small pier and some way out in the sea.

Please be aware:

There are large rocks in the water and at high tide you can't see these.

spot - MIDDLES

Middles is the most famous windsurfing spot in the area.

Middles is a super windsurfing and kitesurfing spot. There's plenty of room for rigging and lots of space on the water, no matter whether you're a beginner or an intermediate. It can also be a great surfing and S.U.P. spot; especially during winter, with a large wave period when all the other spots are messy.

Please be aware:

There can be a lot of current running north east along the coast, and there are also large rocks and clams in the water.

spot - The large pier at Vorupør

The large pier at Vorupør is a safe choice

The large pier at Vorupør can stand a lot of wind so it's a popular surf spot when it's windy, but it can also be fantastic when there's no wind. You jump into the water by going south around the pier. Halfway out there are some holes where you can go under the pier - go via the last hole. Remember that there are large rocks in the water just where you jump in.

Please be aware:

The currents can be very strong along the pier and there are rocks in the corner.

Vorupør's South Side is a powerful spot

The south side of the large pier has a deep underground all the way inland and that results in a very powerful wave that breaks on land. This is a super high wave.

Please be aware:

There is a rough shore break here.

spot - LYNGBY

Lyngby is a pipeline

Lyngby is an entirely straight line of coast, so the waves must break along side the coast in order for it to work. This is a super fast wave with lots of power.

Please be aware:

There's always a strong north running current, and the wave can push a grown man about easily.

spot - THE AGGER TOWN AREA

The Agger town area is a thrill

The Agger town area is full of spots stretching from the last pier north on the strip to all the piers south of town. These spots change all the time because of the sand migration in the area, so you need to drive around for a bit and check out the different piers. The area north of the last pier is a good windsurfing and kitesurfing spot.

Please be aware:

There can be strong currents in this area.

spot - CASPER'S TARM

Casper's tarm is a joker

Casper's tarm was named after a doctor who used to work at Thisted hospital. He always used to drive there to surf - hence the name. This is the spot you drive to when the wind is ravaging all the other spots, but there can be great surfing here without strong winds. This spot requires pretty large waves, and these work best when the current is running into the fjord.

Please be aware:

The current in the canal is very strong because all the waters of Limfjorden run in and out through here twice a day.

spot - Høfte Q

Høfte Q is also a power spot

Høfte Q functions as a small point break. You enter the water on the inside of the south pier and then you paddle to the takeoff zone. This is a super cool wave, but it requires the winds and waves coming from the north and north-east.

Please be aware:

You should be careful not to end up in front of the south pier because you can get pushed up against the pier when large waves roll in.

Thorsminde is a small fishing town where you surf the south side of the harbor outlet. The main spot is located along the harbor pier but there are many spots for the next couple of miles. Down the coast works equally well. I LOVE THAT SPOT.

Please be aware:

This wave can become very powerful and the currents can be very strong.

Bøgsted Rende  - a fun wave

Bøgsted Rende is a straight piece of coastline which is very vulnerable to the wind when it comes to surfing. You cannot go wind- or kitesurfing here. There's a sandy bottom.

Please be aware:

The current can be strong and there's a lot of power to this wave. This spot is a bit like Lyngby.
